Thermal Envelope

M2. a) Unventilated attic with spray foam insulation at underside of roof sheathing or b) ventilated attic with batt, blown-in or foam insulation at bottom of attic with a radiant barrier at underside of roof sheathing.

Heating, Cooling Ventilation

M3. HVAC system provided with two or more zones with independent thermostatics excluding 1-bedroom dwellings. M4. All ducts and air handlers inside thermal envelope (excluding underground returns) and not inside garage. a) Duct seams and connections sealed with water-based mastic; b) Return air filter grilles located and installed to facilitate access and regular service without special tools. M5. Return air pathways for all enclosed habitable rooms with a door (return air inlets, transfer grills, jumper ducts). M6. Electrical boxes for ceiling fans in at least half of habitable rooms (e.g. - living room, dining room, bedrooms).

M7. Energy Star appliances (refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, clothes washer, clothes dryer).

Plumbing

M8. Water softeners equipped with demand-initiated regeneration control using potassium rather than sodium (salt).

M10. Homeowner’s manual including product literature operation and maintenance manuals for materials, finishes, fixtures, appliances and equipment; listing and contact information of vendors and contractors.

To be verified by permit holder & submitted at Final Building Inspection.
