Review items 1 through 8 below. These are basic stipulations required for variance approval. The information you provide will be used to consider your variance.

1. This variance, if approved, is for any work performed outside regular construction hours. Normal construction hours are: Summer - 6am thru 7pm, Monday thru Friday, 7am thru 7pm on Saturday or Sunday, April 1st thru October 31st. . Winter - 7am thru 5pm Monday thru Friday, 8am thru 5pm on Saturday or Sunday, November 1st thru March 31st. Sunday work will only be allowed on a case by case basis and shall be requested by the applicant. 2. Every adjacent resident shall be notified of the work being done and the time frame. Residents shall be notified by personal contact. This shall include, but not limited to, each single family, multi-family, condo or apartment building, hotels, motels, hospitals, nursing homes, retirement homes or any other residential type of occupancy within 750 feet of the jobsite. 3. The flyer will include the names, phone numbers, pager numbers, ect. of individuals within your organization neighbors will contact should they have issues or concerns to be addressed. The flyer will also include the name, phone number, pager number, after hours phone number, etc. of the responsible individual who will be on the site during the time the work is being performed, regardless of the time of day. 4. The flyer will show the dates and times the after hours variance will be in effect and the type of work that will be done. In certain instances, the city will require a neighborhood meeting take place to explain the variance and answer questions, issues or concerns neighbors may have. 5. A copy of the flyer is to be delivered or faxed to Mike Clack, Building Official or Steve Gallant, Building Inspection Supervisor not less than three (3) days prior to the work approved by this variance is being conducted. 6. The Building Inspection Supervisor and the Building Official shall receive documentation that the notices have been delivered not less than two (2) days prior to the work approved by this variance is being conducted. 7. Every effort will be taken to reduce noise in the adjacent neighborhoods. This will include, but is not limited to, determining the quietest way to travel city streets, enter and exit the site; placing equipment as far as possible from the nearest resident; using flagman in place of backup alarms as allowed by OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1926.601(b)(4)(i) and 1926.601(b)(4)(ii); locate concrete pumping equipment as far from the neighborhood as possible and shield the equipment; direct work lights away from the neighborhood or shield the lights. 8. When the jobsite is located within 1/4 mile (440 yards) of a residential area, the use boom-boxes, radios, loudspeakers, etc. that emit noise past the boundaries of the jobsite shall not be used before or after normal summer and winter hours as established in #1 above. Boom-boxes, radios, etc. shall not be allowed during any weekend work.

Should unresolved complaints be logged with the city, the Building Official or Building Inspection Supervisor shall rescind this variance and all work Shall return to the regular summer and winter work hours stated in Item 1 above.

Variance requests will be addressed within 48 hours receipt. A reply will be faxed/emailed to you. Your signature indicates you have read, understand and shall comply with these stipulations.
